Politicians and money

Politicians’ excuse that politics costs money

Kickbacks from faction party ticket sales have became a big problem in Japan, but the problem is not so much that they didn’t report the kickbacks, but rather that tens of millions of yen easily flow to individual politicians (or more accurately, to their personal political funding organizations).

Politicians say that they need money because politics costs money.
They say various excuses, such as election campaigns being expensive, needing multiple secretaries, and not being able to survive on government salary alone. And not being satisfied with public salary, they also collect money in the form of donations.

Think about society in general.
Can someone who receives a salary from a company say that it costs money to educate their children, that it costs money to maintain their home, and that they can’t survive on their current salary, and ask extra money to their company?
Or is there anyone who will compensate them for that?

Politicians don’t need to cling to expensive politicians

Politicians make the laws themselves, so they can do whatever they want.
However, ordinary people can’t do that, so they have to make do with the salary they’re given.
If they can’t do that, they have to get a job that pays more, or do more work to earn more, or get into debt. Everyone does hard effort to make their life.
Isn’t it the same for politicians?
If they make the excuse that they can’t get by on the salary they’re given, they should quit politician and get another job that costs less and earns more.
If they can’t do that, I can’t help but suspect that there’s more merits to being a politician than working hard in the general public.

As long as we leave it to the politicians, the problem of politics and money will not be solved.

No matter how much we tinker with the Political Funds Control Act, nothing will be solved.
Since politicians are the only ones who make the laws, they can’t make laws that are disadvantageous to them.
This problem will not be solved unless we create a new system that doesn’t allow politicians to make money and a system that politicians think they are not special person.
